What Will Solar Do For You?
Under normal weather conditions, a properly-sized Stilwell Solar pool heater will maintain 80 degrees or above all year.
The graph to the right shows the tempuatures that can be expected in a South Florida pool throughout the year with and without a solar pool heater. The bottom bell curve shows the average unheated pool tempuratures throughout the year, while the top bell curve shows the tempuratures that can be expected with a full-sized solar pool heater. The middle line shows the temperatures that can be expected with an approximately 80%-sized system. This graph assumes the use of a pool cover when the temperature drops below 60 degrees.
The rule of thumb with a Stilwell Solar pool heater is: if it is warm enough to be outside in a bathing suit, your pool will be comfortable for swimming.
